A world of opportunities opens up for Santa Marcelina students who have a truly efficient Bilingual Education, which goes beyond learning a second language. Bilingual Education is offered from Level 2 to 9th grade. From the 2nd to the 9th grades, Santa Marcelina relies on Systemic advising, which seeks to integrate the needs of the school to the proposed classes, aiming at optimizing the students’ experience. This advising includes continued training and weekly follow-up of teachers and didactic material delivered to the student.
The students from the 1st to the 9th grade have 4 hours of class per week, where they interact and build knowledge in several areas, in English. We believe in a methodology capable of providing students not only with fluency in the language, but also with an integral formation that enables them to immerse themselves in a new culture.
The classes are interdisciplinary, with varied activities designed to enhance diverse skills, contemplate multiple intelligences, and develop critical thinking. Students not only learn English, they learn in English. In Kindergarten, the child’s contact with the English language is daily and is part of the daily work performed in the different fields of experience.
To check the student’s performance, go to the Student Portal.
Assessment in early childhood education refers to the full development process of the child and occurs in a planned and continuous manner. It contemplates the trajectory of learning and development of the child through the fields of experience, provided in the BNCC.
In elementary and high school, it considers the continuous journey of learning, with the intention of diagnosing the results to promote student development and to redimension the educational practice. The assessment occurs in a procedural and formative way, based on the learning objectives and skills set out in the BNCC and external indicators of large-scale assessment.
The use of any electronic objects, including cell phones, may be used in the learning environments under the authorization of the teacher or other collaborator, either during classes or field work.
The pedagogical coordination can be contacted by e-mail or through the IsCool application, where the coordination teams are available to clarify doubts and interact with the families.
